THE POETICS OF SPACE
&
THE OPENING NIGHT
CONFIGURING, SHIFTING, OR SHAPING SPACE THAT WAS MADE FOR UTILITARIAN PURPOSES OF CAPITAL, SALES, BOARD MEETINGS.
Skimming slightly against the sky,
sweat stained our lips,
muscles tender,
middle classed,
seamless movements of feet,
moving in union of heart,
eyes, fingers, sky.
In the shell of industry we sat hard into design,
finding logic, magic,
casting spells.
Stirring verbs, adjectives around the floor,
for suddenness, madness, favor.
we were planting seeds, into an architectural thought.
Attaching another meaning, to an exclamation,
Placing softness, for others to witness nobility.
Which swims further from the truth as the world intervene.
Sweat yells into the grains of wood,
into the pours of concrete,
skins of wo/man.
Here for a moment, politics becomes real,
modern hands,
modern strokes.
a modern canvass.
Challenging the filth,
for a moment.
Shaping the nastyness,
finding the creole....
Finding a modernity of us in a wooden box.

THIS WAS AN INTERESTING EXPERIENCE OF PLANNING AND PRESENTATION. THAT WILL NEED TO BE EXPLORED FURTHER. WHAT THAT MEANS WILL BE AN INTERESTING PERFORMANCE BETWEEN THE ARTIST AND THE MAKET. |
