is an investigation into art-design.
it is here that I explore the concept
of a Third World art-design proposition.
Does it exist?
Is there a "Caribbean" in our philosophy
of aesthetics?
It is hoped that this will leas to more investigations into
and conversations about art-design into our living spaces.

Below you will find my proposal
for a Third World Design
Philosophy.
Detail of model#0009,
it is here that the design propositon begins
with the fusing of materials.
This meeting is an interesting conceptual thought
in Trinidad and Tobago.
below,
we see the scaring of model#0004, which is a primitive act of
nativity, Tatooing.
Our First Worlds peoples........
the newly arrived and the incoming.
The left over reminders of construction,
tells also another story of the democracy of process.
the idea that we can find our way through the object. We can intellectually think it through.
Is another story of the Third World design formula.
below is a detail of Model#0009
Below is a detial of model#0014,
Here again we can see the material, almost bear.
Below is detail of model#0004
Detail of model#0009
Below is detail of model#0005
This here is an example of interpretation.
As the crafts man put this structural pieces in to create more stability.
The piece does not fit design wise with the object.
But that wasnt the intention of the crafts person,
the idea was functionality,
purpose rather than aesthetics.
Another interesting formula of the
Third World Design Formula.
Below, we see the detail of model#0009,
When you look at the line, there is am uncertainty of the two pieces meeting....this uncertainty, yet, ability to meet,
is one of the fundamental moments in our design philosophy.
Below detail is of model#0014,
here we feel the fusion of meteriality or the attempt to fuse the two interesting elements.
There are other elements,
straw, mud, concrete, steel.
Conclusion.
there is a fusion of meterials,
an offness.
there is democracy,
simplicity.
A focus on functionality,
rather than aesthetics,
a naivete,
a boldness,
a bluntness............
